Awards for Industrial Achievement
The magazine Lebanon Opportunities, in cooperation with ELCIM, which belongs to the Industrial Research Institute, has announced the winning companies in the National Achievement Awards for Industry contest for the year 2011. The awards ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Federation of Lebanese Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mohammed Choucair, and the Chairman of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists, Neemat Frem, and a large number of industrialists and business people.
The awards were divided into four basic categories, and there were total of 12 awards. The winners were chosen by a jury that was characterized by independence and objectivity. The executive director of the ESCWA center for technology, Fouad Murad, proposed the methodology for choosing the winners of the awards. In addition to Murad, the jury included former minister Roger Dib, the treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon; the President of the Syndicate of Supermarkets, Dr. Nabil Fahed; the director of the MBA program at AUB, Riyad Dimashqia; professor at the Lebanese American University, Ramez Maalouf; and the consultant in the sector of food and packaging industries, Fadi Fayad.
